A day for spiritual and physical exercise:The academic community of IPDC organized its outdoor Lenten retreat today at the Cristo Rei Sanctuary in Fatucama, Dili. The sequence of activities unfolded with a deep sense of reflection and devotion, beginning at 9:00 AM with the prayer of the Way of the Cross.Following this solemn journey, Rev. Fr. José Maia, from the Diocese of Maliana, captivated the gathering with his dynamic and engaging presentation of the theme “Spes non confundit” (Hope does not disappoint). With warmth and a touch of humor, he wove profound spiritual insights into an animated discourse, ensuring that the young retreatants—students from all three departments of IPDC, accompanied by their respective teachers—absorbed the message with ease. Through relatable examples and an inviting presence, he encouraged everyone to embrace their faith with joy and conviction.Fr. José Maia likened each individual to a rare and precious perfume, emphasizing that our daily lives should radiate a fragrance of love and devotion for Jesus.
